Hi guys!

So yeah, this is the (sort of) long awaited Hertfordshire meet. :D Which is relevant news to London people too, because Hertfordshire is literally a second away from London (kind of). And we go there for your devmeets, so we expect to see you here for ours... :D

(lol I missed this out on the first draft). Saturday 19th December! 2009! yep.

PLAN

We're thinking meet outside Stevenage train station at about 1:15 (but I'll probably be there by 1ish).** Then we'll be heading to the wonderful world of Hollywood Bowl for a couple of bowling games at about 1:45ish (though you can phone me if you get lost or will be late! Just message me for my number), then to the arcade for a while, and then most probably head to Wetherspoons in the town centre (kind of keeping in dA London tradition!).

And yeah, like I said, Stevenage is just a short train ride away from London – so if you Londoners (or even people from other counties as well!) can make it, we'd love to share the joys of Hertfordshire with you. AND I've made the meeting times reasonable if you were to catch a train to Stevenage from Kings Cross, so... you know, you kind of have to.

There will also be chocolate and festive cheer! So feel free to bring chocolate/festive cheer/both with you too. In fact it's encouraged! (but not compulsory, though bring a smile at least? please?)

(** because Stevenage train station is a crap place to meet (busy and not much room), we'll be just outside it - if you turn right after the ticket gates at the station and go down some stairs, we should be at the bottom (unless it's raining, in which case we'll be hanging about at the top of the stairs). If there are no stairs after about two minutes of walking, or if you're walking towards a bridge over a road, you're going the wrong way! The stairs you want to take lead to a massive carpark.)

Kaylee pretty much has the first 5 days covered in her Journal

Now that may look like a lot of photos stacked up there, but I did take over 2000 and those don't even include Rhode Island. They're all a bit facebooky though so will probably remain there for now (Halloween was insane!)

I honestly loved every minute of the trip, the people the places the food, so will be returning ASAP! ^{I won't mention the rain or the unscheduled trip to Warsaw...}

For now I'm still working in that crappy warehouse and volunteering as a photographer for oxfam... but I'll see you English lot on the 5th Dec!

I hope this journal isn't too late, but today/tomorrow is the last chance for anyone who is planning to come along to the PDN Photo Expo in New York on the 24th to register before the price goes up!

Tomorrow I'm off to Berlin for a weekend of unspecified urban adventures. Travelling light and starting off sleeping in the train station! Wish me luck!

So the plan is to meet and check out the PDN Photoplus Expo!

"The Most Important Event in Photography: Located at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City the show boasts a huge expo floor, hundreds of exhibitors, thousands of new products and a conference with over 100 seminars." Its FREE ENTRY if we register before the 8th Oct (otherwise the price jumps up to $49)

Don't worry if you're not too into photography, after a couple hours we'll either go exploring or do something arty....then most likely hit the bar This will be the first devmeet I've organised abroad so obviously any local knowledge/spreading of the word would be much appreciated!

So far I've about 10 names on my list, but I'll be adding people here below once they've registered!

Well apparently I can't disappear for a week without people assuming I've been arrested! So heres a journal to prove I'm still (relatively) free...

Firstly I wanna say thanks for all the feedback on my latest daily deviation, and a big hello to anyone now watching me as a result of it! It really means a lot considering the mixed feedback that photo initially received.

Due to unforseen circumstances its now looking like I'll be without a tour guide for part of or all the trip, so if anyone is about (in New York) late october and fancies meeting up I'd be very grateful

Oh and I just bought a pdf of this years London Open House brochure, so if anyone wants a copy emailed to them let me know! Its becoming tradition now that I'm there at least one of the days (19/20th sept this year), and though it does get a bit busy during the daytime for a full devmeet I'm sure we could arrange some more met bar shenanigans!
