Apparently JRR Tolkien was a frequent visitor, its an epic place....you really can see where he took his inspiration from!

I've been to the forest of Dean, it was so insperational, sadly the lighting was not coperating with me, as it seems to with you.

looks magical! - a great inspiration shot for MSND! ^__^
if you're ever down in the plymouth/Devon Area you should look up an ancient stunted forest that's up on the moores somewhere called "whistman's wood" .. it's not large (in terms of ground covered, as there's not many trees remaining that haven't been removed to make way for farm land) but because they're gorwing in a very sheltered valley these 100s years old oak trees are all teeny tiny and covered in moss and there are huge stones everywhere.. it's very atmospheric ... hey.. maybe I should just post my photos so you can see for yourself! LOL

its also awesome to go there in the different seasons, the place has totally contrasting vibes. Like, in summer it's really bright and contrasted with plunging shadows, lots of leaves/trees etc it's really overgrown, where as in winter its cold, damp, moss infested, with dead trees, logs etc, and is very oppressive. Worth checking it out in February/march for the contrast :)
