Final Curtain by greenie Final Curtain by greenie
Derby Hippodrome, abandoned theatre.

Easily one of the most unsound buildings I've visited, really quite depressing the state its in! Had to use my camera flash to see in some parts as I didn't have a torch with me. Hooray for hungover morning after bonus explores though :]

Unless someone invests the ridiculous funding to do so, very unlikely. The landlord who owned it wanted to demolish it and turn it into flats or a car park but was refused by the council. So there's been a few suspicious fires and demolition activities to worsten the condition to the state you see in this picture.

Impressing! I love the moment of the capture. It's not completely a ruin, but "starting" to decay, which, in my opinion is much more touching, as it could still be recovered

Congratulations on your DD! It's a great photo of an awesome old building. The theatres still boarded up now and is in even worse state, I might have to go along myself one day and see if I can get in!

Awesome shot! I've recently been here myself. Apparently Tommy Cooper and Jimmy Hendrix have performed here in the past. Such a shame it's been left in such a state.
