Easily one of the most unsound buildings I've visited, really quite depressing the state its in! Had to use my camera flash to see in some parts as I didn't have a torch with me. Hooray for hungover morning after bonus explores though :]

They loaded him in and drove him to the Opry. He was old now, and weary, and very near blind. They drove down through the alley that lead to the stage door. They granted his last wish... just to be kind. Many times he had stood by the entrance, waiting his turn to walk out on the stage. Thunderous applause had once welcomed the entrance, of this old performer now crippled with age. He leaned on them heavily as they slowly lead him through the back entrance and up to the round. Then as if by magic his bent body straightened as he said "I can make it from hear now I know where I am." ~ I know where I am now, Bill and Gloria Gaither.
This is a very moving picture. Full of sadness and loss. And the moment I saw this it reminded me of this song.
reminds me of the ending to phantom of the opera, (the film, reference) ....chaos, tearing down, starting anew, and the in-between that is dust and clutter, and beauty... <3
It reminds me of the state the Glasgow Apollo was in after the last gigs. Folk were ripping the ashtrays off the seats, the bricks from the walls. Love the picture
as an avid thespian and general theatre advocate/lover, images like this kill me a little inside... but this is such a beautiful picture. i would have loved to see this stage new...
